Plastic Pollution over the World
Millions of tons a year, most of it used once. Recycling helps; experts say it is not enough.

Plastic pollution continues to be a major environmental issue around the world. Millions of tons of plastic waste enter oceans and landfills each year, harming wildlife and ecosystems.
Many everyday items, such as plastic bottles and bags, are used only once before being thrown away. Because plastic takes hundreds of years to break down, it can remain in the environment for a long time.
Governments, businesses, and individuals are working to reduce plastic waste through recycling programs and reusable products. However, experts say more action is needed to address the growing problem.
By making small changes in daily life, people can help reduce plastic pollution and protect the environment for future generations.
